Administrator
Mr. Luis Carrasquillo
Luis Carrasquillo, B.B.A., has been the RISE Program Coordinator for the past 5 grant cycles. He possesses a Baccalaureate Degree in Accounting and twenty-five years of experience in grant and project administration at the UPR. Among his main functions will be supervising the general administration of the program. The administrative procedures for student recruitment and the monthly payroll process established by the institution will be among his main responsibilities. He will also facilitate communication among program components, staff, students, and mentors. He oversees all budget management in accordance with federal and UPR policies and coordinates with the PIs all administrative tasks in order to achieve G- RISE Program goals.
Administrative Assistant
Ms. Bárbara Santana
Barbara Santana, B.B.A., has been the RISE Program Invited Speakers and Student Services Coordinator for the past 2.5 grant cycles. She possesses a Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, and eleven years of experience as an administrative assistant at the UPR.
Evaluator
Professor Doryliz Vila
Professor Doryliz Vila, an Assistant Professor in the Office of Academic Affairs at the Medical Sciences Campus and Director of the evaluation and research component for the Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) Program, brings over 20 years of experience as an evaluator of MBRS RISE programs. She has extensive expertise in the design and management of population studies and the evaluation of mental health programs. Her involvement in large-scale research, such as the National Latino and Asian American Study (NLAAS) and the Boricua Youth Study, has been instrumental in collecting and analyzing data on mental health prevalence across diverse populations. She also led the Quality, Access, and Timeliness of Mental Health Services study for ASSMCA's Transformation Program, which involved the review of over 3,000 records and the coordination of interviews and focus groups. Her experience as a principal evaluator on externally funded programs, backed by institutions like the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), highlights her capability to ensure effectiveness, quality, and goal attainment in high-impact projects.
